Picasa Photo Editing Software: Camera Import
How to import pictures from your camera into Picasa
Picasa finds the majority images/video or picture files stored on your computer,
including file types captured by a lot of mobile camera phones. (See Systems Requirements
for a listing of file types). Just transport your pictures to your computer based
on your device's standard transport method, like Bluetooth. (Note: Picasa has TWAIN*
and WIA* support for importing from devices. a number of mobile phones may well
have this support, which means that pictures on these devices could be imported
directly by clicking the "Import" button in Picasa. confirm this in your mobile
phone's owner handbook.)
After storing the pictures on your computer, start Picasa. Your images/video or
picture will automatically become visible in the "Folders on Disk" collection in
Picasa, under the name of the folder where they are stored on your computer. If
the images/videos or pictures do not become visible in Picasa, make certain that
the folder where the mobile images/video or picture exist in is being "watched"
by going to "Tools" > "Folder Manager."
*TWAIN is a standard for obtaining images from image scanners: an image capture
API for Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh operating systems. The word TWAIN
is not formally an acronym; however, it is broadly known as a backronym for "Technology
Without An Interesting Name".
*Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) is a driver model and application programming
interface (API) for current Microsoft Windows operating systems that allows graphics
software to talk with imaging hardware such
as scanners, digital cameras and Digital
Video-equipment. It was initially introduced in 2000 as a component of Windows Me,
and persists to be the standard imaging device and API model through succeeding
Windows versions. It is put into operation as an on-demand service in Windows XP
and subsequent Windows operating systems.
